Abstract:   (3910 Views)

In recent years with the growing terrorist and subversive activities in the world, detection, prevent and already increasing the security factor of military and sensitive areas has become very important. Among the few existing technologies, to detect traces of explosives, use of conjugated polymers have better condition rather than other technology and can present canine sensitivity in frame of electro optic device. In this detection method a molecular wire of florescence monomers form which in the presence of analyte florescence of polymers will be quenched, this phenomenan converts to an electronic or optic response through transducer. Commercialized detection tools based on these polymers contain simple structure, low weight, high precision and detection speed. In this article it is tried to present a comprehensive report of explosive detection by means of conjugated polymers, effective factors in this process, manufactured tools and last published achievemnets. Studies in this article show the presence of Pentiptycene groups and increasing polymer concentration (from solution to film) cause more quenching and more precise detection. Also, Nitroaromatics such as TNT, DNT are usually detected by conjugated polymers. These polymers own highest detection precision (ppq), fastest detection time (10 s) and lightest tools (1.5 kg) in comparison to other methods, although there are some limitations in detection distance from the aim.
