In this research, three dimensional transient simulations of explosion shockwaves have been performed by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). For this purpose, the characteristics of explosive mass and the geometry of explosion environment have been imported to Ansys Fluent CFD software. The simulation results have been validated by using experimental data obtained from literature. The comparisons between computational and experimental results show that CFD is a versatile means to predict the characteristics of explosion shockwaves. Afterwards, the effects of different parameters on explosion shockwaves have been investigated. These parameters are the distance of explosive from barrier, barrier height, explosion energy, explosion energy release time and the absence of barrier.
