Abstract: Oxidizer constitute most part of propellant and ammonium perchlorate is most used oxidizer in solid propellant among other oxidizer. Coating is one method to prevent agglomeration of ammonium perchlorate or to create other desirable properties on ammonium perchlorate. Usually type of coating agent and method of coating are selected on base of purpose of coating. Target of coating perhaps is prevent of agglomeration or improvement thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate or improvement of propellant properties. These coating involve different group of chemical compounds consist of organosilicon compoundes, aziridine compounds, some complexes, and different polymers and even aluminum. In often of cases after coating coated ammonium perchloratehas been used to prepare propellant composition and has been investigate some properties of propellant such as mechanical properties, ballistic properties, visco-elastic behavior, burning rate, pressure index sensitivity, and viscosity. Usually organosilicon compounds and some of polymers improve mechanical properties and reduce sensitivity and burning rate, whereas aluminum increase viscosity, burning rate and friction sensitivity. Aften aziridine compounds and neutral solvent use to prevent of particles growth and product ultrafine ammonium perchlorate.
