Airbag gas generator’s solid propellant, are set of gas-release systems within a short time, Which contains three main components of fuel, oxidizing agents and additives. This article examines the gas generator propellant types and their different functions and then the desired chemical and physical properties of different components and gas-producing propellant formulation may be checked. One of the most important parameters in the propellant gas generator is propellant burning rate of the gas generator that is dependent on other components in the formulation which has been tried to improve additives with the burning rate modifiers in recent years. In this article various factors are effective in the burning rate and researches in the composition of solid air bag gas generators will be introduced. Also the production of toxic gases and the combustion temperature of the propellant gas generator as important criteria in selecting a formulation will be considered.
