In this research, the preparation of strontium carbonate with pyrotechnic properties is considered. After investigating these characteristics, different methods of preparing strontium carbonate were examined. Then, among these methods, the best method for preparing strontium carbonate with standard pyrotechnic characteristics was selected. In this research, to prepare strontium carbonate with standard pyrotechnic characteristics, strontium nitrate was used as a source of strontium and sodium carbonate as a source of carbonate. Became In order to reach the optimal conditions for the preparation of strontium carbonate, the effective parameters were investigated and optimized. The optimal value of the parameters as: strontium nitrate concentration; 25%, molar ratio of sodium carbonate to strontium nitrate; 1:1, pH; 11, stirring speed of strontium nitrate solution; 500 rpm, the rate of increase of sodium carbonate to strontium nitrate; 5 steps, reaction temperature; 20°C, reaction time; 15 minutes, number of washes; 5 times, drying temperature, 140°C, drying time; 2 hours were obtained. The prepared optimal sample was subjected to quantitative and qualitative analysis and its results were compared with the results obtained from the analysis of an industrial sample (strontium carbonate of Asia Company). The results showed that the strontium carbonate prepared in this research can be used in pyrotechnic products.
