Aromatic and aliphatic isocyanates are used in the production of polyurethane. Dimeryl diisocyanate (DDI) is a cycloaliphatic diisocyanate with a high molecular weight and a long carbon chain, and this long carbon chain causes the activity of N=C=O groups to decrease in the structure of the molecule. In this research, the synthesis of dimeryl diisocyanate (DDI) using triphosgene reagent has been investigated as a non-biological method. Thus, in the first step, the reaction of acid dimer with chlorination agent at ambient temperature led to the preparation of acyl chloride compound with 98% efficiency, and in the second step, by blowing ammonia gas into this intermediate, the dimeramide product was obtained with 78% efficiency. Then reduction of dimer amide using sodium borohydride reagent created dimer amine product with 52% efficiency. In the final step, using triphosgene reagent and adding it to amine dimer led to the formation of dimeryl diisocyanate (DDI) with 62% efficiency. The products of different stages of the reaction were determined and characterized using IR, 1HNMR and 13CNMR
