Polyethers with terminal hydroxyl groups is a polymer that, in addition to ether groups along the polymer chain, has hydroxyl groups at the the chain terminals, this polymer is used as valuable bulding blocks in the preparation of defence used polyurethanes .Hydroxyl terminated polyether was successfully synthesized from cationic ring-opening polymerization of tetrahydrofuran with 69% yield. In this reaction, epichlorohydrin was used as a reaction promoter and phosphotungstic acid as a catalyst. The obtained resin has a numerical average molecular weight of 3739 g/mol and the amount of epichlorohydrin in the structure is 23%. The optimization of factors affecting the reaction yields, such as temperature, time, and the amount of catalyst used, were investigated in detail.
