In most gas generator systems, production of gases at low temperature (less than 1000 °C) over a relatively long operation time (between 10 to 300 seconds) is needed. According to studies, composite propellant based on ammonium nitrate as oxidizer, especially AN/HTPB propellant is most commonly propellant used in gas generators. Because of low burning rate (about 2 mm/s at a pressure of 70 bar), low flame temperature (about 1000 °C), and low pressure sensitivity (about 0.4). In this paper, formulation of this propellant has been studied to use in gas generators.
