The partial replacement of RDX with AP attention of many researchers. In this paper, Firstly reasons of replacing part of AP with RDX expressed and the influence of replacing part of AP with RDX on the mechanical, safety and ballistic properties of composite solid propellant have been studied. Using of nitramines in the propellant formulations cause to change in the mechanical properties such as increase elongation and decrease the young’s modulus and tensile strength. The results shows that replacing AP with RDX cause to improve the Process ability, decrease the burning rate and increase the specific impulse. Of the other effects of replacing AP with RDX can be noted increase temperature and impact sensitivity and too decrease friction and shock Sensitivity.
